Privacy Policy

This page is the Privacy Policy for the ChatJumper Chrome extension.

Effective date: June 17, 2026

Summary

No personal or sensitive user data is collected.

ChatJumper runs locally in the user's browser. It helps users jump to their own questions inside the currently open ChatGPT conversation.

How data is collected, used, and disclosed

ChatJumper reads the current ChatGPT page DOM in the open browser tab to find user-question positions and scroll locally. This page reading is used only to provide the jump and highlight feature.

ChatJumper does not store chat content.

ChatJumper does not copy, export, summarize, or sync chat content.

ChatJumper does not send chat content to any server.

ChatJumper does not use analytics.

ChatJumper does not sell user data.

ChatJumper does not share user data with third parties.

User preferences

ChatJumper stores extension preferences only in chrome.storage.local. These preferences can include Composer Button visibility, highlight feedback, toast feedback, smooth scrolling, and ChatGPT enablement.

These preferences are used only to apply the user's local settings in the browser.

Permissions used

The storage permission is used to save local extension preferences in chrome.storage.local.

The https://chatgpt.com/* host access is used to run the content script on ChatGPT pages so ChatJumper can find user-question positions and scroll locally.

The packaged icon is exposed as a web-accessible resource so the Composer Button can display the ChatJumper icon inside the page.

Data retention

Chat content is not retained because ChatJumper does not store chat content.

Local preferences remain in chrome.storage.local until the user changes the settings, clears extension data, or removes the extension.

Limited use

ChatJumper uses page access only for its single purpose: helping users navigate to their own questions in the current ChatGPT conversation.

ChatJumper does not use user data for advertising, profiling, analytics, sale, or unrelated product purposes.
